Artists are able to showcase their work, talk to people about their work, sell some beautiful pieces they have created and expand their reach within the community. The community has direct access to the artists and have the opportunity to directly support the artists and their work!
In her years in the performing arts scene, Kita P has noticed a gap between creators and their immediate community. Visual artists are all around us and constantly creating. They want to get their work into the hands of patrons/supporters who genuinely value their work. People in the community don’t regularly go to galleries and oftentimes, aren’t aware of the artists within their local and neighboring communities. If and when they are at a gallery or an art opening, they are often intimidated by the pricing and just walk out with a wishlist, rather than something tangible. Artists themselves feel at a loss because they either do not have access to galleries/spaces to showcase their work and/or do not even know how to put a price on their creations.
Kita P has developed the Nu Underground experience as her solution to this gap between creators and communities. She has produced and curated this experience in Brooklyn, NYC and as of November 24, 2023, The Nu Underground Experience will be coming to Harrisburg, PA for the 3rd time in two years!!! It is a three hour experience to engage all the senses as well as the spirit. There is on-going live music, drinks (2 drinks included with ticket price), freshly prepared food by Chef Mariah Lewis of Sweet Nete’s and artwork for auction/sale by visual artists. Julia Mallory is our featured artist for November 2023!
